Adding a new recorder

  1. In the navigation menu, select one of the following options:
    • Monitoring
    • Configuration
  2. Expand Devices.
  3. In the Devices list, click the device that you want to add. You can select one of the following options:
    • Exacq Recorders
    • VideoEdge Recorders
  4. Click the Add New button.
  5. In the Add New window, on the General tab, configure the device settings in the General Information area and then click Save.
    Note: For VideoEdge Recorders, the following requirements apply:
    • In the IP Address / Domain Name field, ensure that you enter the IP address for the VideoEdge NVR. You cannot enter localhost.
    • The Use Secure Connection check box is selected automatically.
    • The recorder begins connecting with a connection status displayed to indicate connection progress.
    • The NVR name imports as the recorder connects. You can overwrite the display name in the Name field.
    • If you close the configuration page while the NVR and cameras are connecting, a warning displays.
    • Any cameras connected to the NVR import automatically.
  6. Click the Save button or, to close the window after saving, click Save & close.
  7. Optional: To open the VideoEdge server configuration page, click the Open NVR Configuration button.
