Configuring email for C•CURE IQ

Use the Email Configuration editor to send test email messages, enter values for default settings for pre-configured email messages, and to poll an email server.

  1. In the navigation menu, click Configuration.
  2. In the Configuration menu, expand System Options, and then click Email Configuration.
  3. In the System Email Configuration area, configure the following settings:
    1. In the SMTP Server field, enter the name of the SMTP mail server or IP address used to send email messages from the computer that hosts C•CURE IQ.
    2. In the Email Port field, enter the SMTP port. The default value is 25.
    3. In the Sender Email Address field, enter the default address for the message sender.
    4. In the User Password field, enter a password.
    5. Optional: To send emails over an encrypted channel, select the Use SSL check box.
    6. Optional: Click the Journal Unsent and Deleted Email check box for the activity journal to log unsent and deleted emails.
    7. In the Maximum Time to Retry Sending an Email (Hours) field, edit the default value if required.
  4. Click Save.
  5. To verify that the email server is reachable, complete the following steps:
    1. In the Recipient Email Address field, enter the default address of a recipient. To email multiple recipients, use a comma to separate each email address.
    2. Click Send Test Email.
      If the Send Test Email is successful, the system displays a confirmation message.
  6. To check the status of an email server, complete the following steps:
    1. Select the Enable Email Server TCP/IP Polling check box.
    2. To use an email address when polling a server, select the Use Email Address for Polling check box.
    3. In the Polling Interval (Minutes) field, enter the amount of time between each poll to the server.
    4. In the Email Address for Polling field, enter an email address.
  7. Click Save.
