Searching for a video

From a video monitoring module, you can perform a video search. The camera’s configuration and type determines the type of searches that you can perform. In addition, selecting multiple video panes limits the search type to Time only. Performing a search opens a Video Search layout, where you can configure the search parameters.
  1. Open a monitoring layout that contains a video monitoring module.
  2. Select a video pane that contains a compatible camera.
    Note: If you select multiple video panes, the search type is limited to Time only.
  3. To access the video search settings, in the top-right corner of the video monitoring module, click Video Search and then select one of the available options.
    The Video Search layout opens.
  4. From the Video Search pane, to add cameras to the search, in the Select Camera area, type search terms in the Camera field, and then select the cameras that you want to add.
  5. In the Modify Time Range area, in the Select Time Range list, select one of the following options:
    • Select Specific Range, and then configure Start Date and Time and End Date and Time.
    • Select one of the following time ranges:
      • Last 30 seconds
      • Last minute
      • Last 5 minutes
      • Last 10 minutes
      • Last 30 minutes
      • Last hour
      • Last day
      • Last week
  6. Click the Search button.
    A progress bar displays while the search is in progress. To cancel a search, click Cancel.
  7. To view a video, click the play button on the search result that you want to view.
